It’s official. I just finished my last chicken sandwich in a while . It tasted like ass, I’m on UA-cam and realized they change the recipe for some reason. No wonder it tasted so weird

you say 20 dollars labor if paying employees 7.25 a hr then change it saying its if you payed them ten a hr a mistake im supprised wasnt corrected also atleast carhops can get tips i seen a manger send people home then do the carhop orders himself and one person gave him like a 12 dollar tip yet the cooks dont get jack shit and there making the food and slaving in the hot kitchen grill yet no tips ever for the cooks sad really
the sonic that i know is owned by someone really cheap he owns 3 locations and he doesnt give his employees direct deposit and one of my friends who is a cook gets touched by the other cook alot but they wont file for sexual harassment because they know the managers favor the cheap mexican labor cooks who do lots of side jobs like plumbing and other things which arent in the job description for something a cook should do at sonic

Wow, I've only watched a total of 3 of your videos so far, and I absolutely love you! I worked a couple of fast food jobs back in the day, and that was some really hard work, I worked at a chic fil a, and a sonic...both were great places, but fast food just wasn't for me, it gave me a really big appreciation for workers doing fast food though! You seem like the PERFECT BOSS lol.. Again, only watched 3 vids so far, and when you said you sold, I thought you were ready to retire, and commit your life to your UA-cam channel, lol, which Is working out great for you by the way, if you ever need a former fast food employee from north Alabama, look me up, I have no experience in UA-cam except for constantly watching it, but I'm up for the fun you seem to be having everywhere lol

I knew a very nice girl who lost her job to circumstances well beyond her control similar to this example. She was on vacation and flew to her home country in Africa. While she was their a revolution broke out and the rebels seized the airport for 4 weeks. By the time she was able to get back the company had already fired her and refused to take her back. It was a real shame too. She was a good employee. The company was not the best. To give some context, this company actually made a profit off their employee by hosting an employee Christmas party.

People are so easy to jump to conclusions. In this case I’d be afraid that “Jenny” might not show up for work again because she might be dead- her crazy boyfriend.
there are many reasons you might not file a police report, the boyfriend might be a cop himself and that could set him off again, he might have a mental disorder and had been unable to afford his medication leading to his breakdown, it might be his name on the lease and if she reports him she may find herself and her child homeless, things in life are rarely black and white. now if there is a history of suspicious behavior then you might decide you need to fire them, but a single incident is rarely worth the effort of hiring and training someone new.
The 1st, 2nd, 3rd time she does it, you can try to build a relationship, but the 7th, 8th, 9th time it happens, you are enabling them to use you.
Was there a police report? If not, it's a lie.

Honestly I was having some medical problems myself and my employer was having issues I'm assuming thinking I was faking my problems. So I started sending them pictures of the bloody puke filled toilets that accompanied my problems. Turns out I had asthma and it gave me really bad stomach and acid reflux problems that'd then give me massive throat infections and other problems. Got diagnosed and so far I've not needed to take any ant-acid medications since I'm on the stuff for asthma and I'm doing much better in that respect.
So let me guess you did they same as the boyfriend and decided not to pull the trigger and fire

Anyone can get into a bad situation and grow. There are loads of unwed young women with children who could use a job. They need a job too and that is a very common applicant to a place like sonic. And that woman may date men who turn out to be shitty. I worked in a toxic environment and they hired someone that they fired and several years later they rehired them. I was let go and the little time away does give me perspective. I think if I had that break from work I would have realized a lot more.

Music and sound effects are a big part of what makes video enjoyable. I'm definitely still working on getting better at finding good music. Also, it's so hard to get royalty free music that is legal to use on UA-cam without paying thousands of dollars per song. Do you have some recommendations for good music? For me, it depends on a case-to-case basis. If it's a good employee and this is the first time happening, I would ask the employee what happened and probably let it slide. However, I would let them know that the next time it happens for whatever reason, they will get a warning, and the third time it happens, they will get fired.

Wrong. I've worked in the resturant industry for nearly 10 years. The largest expense is labor. Nobody pays federal minimum wage. And if you do your a scumbag
I just opened my first coffee shop and think those profit numbers are low. My goal is 20% net profit. Need my prime cost to be around 50%
I would love to know how that goes! Some of my Sonics ran 20% profit, some lost money... but the average was about 10%. Please let me know how your profit turns out after you get a couple p&l's under your belt. Thanks for checking out my video!
@@therealpaulreiser I will, currently we are 45% food 55% beverage sales. Washington state minimum wage is currently $16.25 for tipped employees but I set us up to be efficient.

The $300K is the amount left to the operator after Chik fil a takes half. So the average profit would be $600K , chik fil a gets half and the operator gets half. Thanks for checking out my video and taking the time to comment!
He's luckier than most. Most coffee shop owners that I know make $70_000 to $90_000 of profit. Its basically a professional job. You're not going to get rich doing it.

40% on Expenses? That’s crazy high. And no wonder there is so much resistance by business owners to increasing the minimum wage - 20% labour costs is very cheap. That would have to be a quick service restaurant, as a full service restaurant would generally be up around 35-40% labour costs. I own a restaurant in Australia and my split is approx 42% labour, 27% food and beverage, 12% rent and expenses.
Worked at panda express for 2 years and General managers most Panda express store made 40% profit. Crazy good their system is amazing. I will never do such business with 5% profit margin
Panda is a great business! They don't franchise, own all the land and buildings and as far as I can tell spend VERY little on advertising. So I can see how they are very profitable! Thanks for the comment!
correction... I just found out they have started franchising! But only 7% of their 2,300 locations are franchise owned.
